Ambernath: For the last one and a half to two months, the leopard, which has created panic in Ambernath, Murbad and Kalyan Rural areas, has now infiltrated the human residential settlement. This leopard was caught on Monday night in the CCTV camera installed in the Ordnance Factory premises of Ambernath. As a precaution, now the Forest Department has started creating awareness among the citizens of this area.
For the past few days, leopard is being seen in the forest areas of Ambernath and Kalyan talukas. The leopard also hunted goats and calves in some villages under Kalyan Gramin adjacent to Ambernath. The forest department did not make any effort to capture the leopard as it was returning to the forest after hunting. However, the leopard has now directly entered the limits of the urban area. As per the rules of the forest department, the cages cannot be put up until the leopards enter the human habitation area.

Now the forest department is on high alert as the leopard has infiltrated human habitations. The Forest Department is now urging citizens in the ordnance estate area to be vigilant so that leopards can be prevented from harming humans. The forest department made preparations on Tuesday evening and is trying to find out the exact location of the leopard.
The leopard was seen crossing the road at Monkey Chowk in the Ordnance Factory area on Monday night. The leopard was spotted by the security guards of the factory and immediately informed the forest department. Forest department officials inspected the spot and found that the leopard is in the same area, the forest department officials have now appealed to the citizens to be alert. The Ordnance Factory area is full of bushes and there is a lot of green space in the area so there is enough space available for the leopard to hide. Where the leopard was seen, there is a large colony of officers in the Ordnance Factory. The Ordnance Factory Administration has also confirmed the sighting of the leopard in a conversation with the reporter.
