Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the Kushinagar International Airport in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. This is the third international airport of Uttar Pradesh, built in an area of 589 acres at a cost of about Rs 260 crore.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the ninth airport of Uttar Pradesh has been inaugurated today, this will increase the possibilities of tourism and employment opportunities will be available. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state government is working on 11 airports including two international airports at Ayodhya and Gautam Buddh Nagar. CM said that this airport is not only beneficial for Uttar Pradesh but also for Bihar and Nepal.

The Chief Minister said that the Uttar Pradesh government is working on the construction of 11 new airports in the state. He said that work is underway on two international airports at Ayodhya and Gautam Buddh Nagar. The construction work at Ayodhya airport is on a war footing, while work on Gautam Buddh Nagar is also underway. He said that till 2014, Uttar Pradesh’s air connectivity was limited to only 14 to 16 destinations. I am proud to announce that Kushinagar airport will connect 75 locations in the state.
CM Yogi said that Eastern UP was continuously neglected since independence. Here, more than 5 crore citizens of Eastern UP are getting the blessings and companionship of respected Narendra Modi ji to strengthen a new flight of development.
The CM said that the land where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon was Sarnath. The earth where Lord Buddha spent the maximum number of Chaturmas is Shravasti. The land which got the maximum benefit of story listening and satsang is Kaushambi, Mahaparinirvana site Kushinagar is also in UP.
During this, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the Prime Minister had said in a meeting of the United Nations that India always follows the path of Gautam Buddha, which other countries are ready for war. Today PM is present here to dedicate this Kushinagar airport to our 54 crore Buddhist devotees.
He said that there were only 74 airports in the country in 70 years, within 7 years 54 airports have been established and today 128 airports have been established in India. The Union Minister said that direct flights between Delhi and Kushinagar will start from November 26, Kushinagar will be connected with Mumbai on December 18 and Kushinagar will also be connected with Kolkata.
