Today is the school day of non-violence and peace. This day (School Day of Non-violence and Peace) is celebrated to inspire citizens to find non-violent solutions to conflicts. It was started on 30 January 1964 by a Spanish poet, teacher and pacifist, Lorenque Vidal. After which this day started being celebrated all over the world.
Lorenc believed that school is a place where leaders and citizens of tomorrow are taught the importance of universal peace and conflict resolution through nonviolent means. Keeping this objective in mind, he established the School Day of Non-Violence and Peace on 30 January, the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the great ambassador of world peace.
