The world’s most expensive domestic cricket league is being played in the United Arab Emirates, replacing India. That too with strict rules. Glamor is far from 13th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) due to Coronavirus. There are only a few select faces on which the camera has been the focus for a long time. Prominent among them are Preity Zinta, Shah Rukh Khan, Akash Ambani and Kaviya Maran. Kaviya Maran has been a major face in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s IPL Caravan for the past few years.

Kaviya was seen wearing an orange jersey last season and cheering the team led by David Warner. Till then, very few people knew about her. Kaviya was again at the center of public attention after Sunrisers Hyderabad were seen bidding during the IPL 2020 auction in December 2019. Now that the IPL 2020 is happening in the UAE, Kaviya is appearing as a fangirl for her team in the stands with much fanfare. For those who do not know, Kaviya Maran is the daughter of Hyderabad team owner Kalanithi Maran.
Kalanithi Maran owns Sun TV TV Network, one of India’s largest television networks (32 TV channels and 45 FM radio stations). An ardent cricket fan, 28-year-old Kaviya also has active participation in her network’s FM channels (Sun Music). She was inducted into the Sun TV Network board of directors last year. Kaviya is a BCom graduate from Stellia Maris College, Chennai. She also did an internship at Sun TV Network to gain experience.
Kaviya then pursued an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business affiliated with New York University. After her MBA, she decided to join the father’s business. Kaviya has played a key role in Sun TV Group’s concept of moving forward in the digital market since 2017. She is currently the head of Sun Next (Sun NXT), the over-the-top (OTT) platform of Sun TV Network.
Sun NXT has more than 1 million subscribers. Sun NXT is believed to be adding around 20000 subscribers daily. Kaviya has established herself as a young entrepreneur at the age of just 28 years. Her knowledge and experience in the business world is definitely helping Sun TV Network and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Not only this, her presence in the stands in Team Jersey during the match encourages Sunrisers Hyderabad and its fans.
Let me tell you that Preity Zinta, co-mistress of Kings XI Punjab, has been seen cheering her team on the field even before. The eyes of Mukesh Ambani’s son and Mumbai Indians co-owner Akash Ambani have also been seen to boost their team’s morale. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owners are seen encouraging the players of their team during the match.
