There have been complaints of loopholes in Cowin for booking vaccination slots. About this, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had requested the Center a few days ago that the states should be approved to develop their app. Now the Government of Karnataka has decided to launch its vaccination portal. The Karnataka government has found that the Kovin platform has some limitations, when a person has to choose where to get the vaccination done. Due to this, a situation of chaos has arisen at many centers. Some time ago, the Indian Express reported that the people of Bangalore city were booking slots in the rural area, causing outrage among the locals.
According to the news of the Indian Express, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has announced that when the vaccination of people between 18-44 years will start again, a separate portal or app will be launched from Kovin. On Wednesday, the Karnataka government had banned vaccination for this age group so that those above 45 years of age can be vaccinated who are waiting for the second dose.

Vaccination in other areas is not possible in the new portal
Yeddyurappa said that due to some limitations of the Kovin app, clutter is spreading in many centers which will be arranged soon to manage it better. According to the information received by the senior government officials of the state government, in one portal people will not be allowed to book vaccination slots at another place. Due to the shortage of the Corona vaccine, people aged 18-44 in Bangalore city started booking slots in Bangalore Rural, Chikkaballapur, Ramnagar and Tunkuru areas.

Rural District authorities put this issue in front of the City Administration. Talking to IndianExpress.com, Bangalore City District Commissioner K Srinivas said that people from the city are going for vaccination in the village, which led to shortage of vaccine for the people of the villages. Srinivas put the issue before the Bangalore City Administration and now efforts are being made to resolve it. According to local residents, people aged 18-44 are traveling at least 50-70 km from the city to get the vaccine dose, which led to shortage of vaccine for the locals.
