Ambernath: The work of banned Jeans Wash is starting indiscriminately in dozens of villages of rural areas of Tehsil including the urban area of Ambernath. Action is taken only on receipt of complaint by Maharashtra Pollution Board. Due to lack of concrete action, the local Waldhuni River has become polluted due to the said business.
Meanwhile, on the orders of Prashanti Mane, Tehsildar of Ambernath, action was taken on two jeans wash units made by illegal occupation of government land with JCB machine in Karvale village. It has been seen that in Karvale village, with the blessings of political parties and government officials, jeans wash companies are running their business openly. Water of Waldhuni river is getting polluted
It is worth noting that the water mixed with the chemical-laden water from these jeans wash companies is being released in the Waldhuni river, drains and fields, due to which the water here is getting polluted. Earlier, Ulhasnagar used to have about 550 jeans wash units. Due to the initiative taken by an NGO named Vanshakti, this business that caused the Waldhuni river to become polluted, has been closed by the Municipal Corporation and the Pollution Control Board in the year 2017. Now these companies are being run near Anandnagar MIDC, Opposite Vikas Petrol Pump, Loknagri, Deepaknagar, Shivajinagar, Morivali MIDC, Barku Pada, Buvapara, Karvale Village and other premises. There are also complaints about them that they violate the safety rules for their workers.
Demand is being made to take strict action by cutting light, water connections
Ambernath Municipal Health Department and Maharashtra Pollution Control Department are also aware of this, but this government official is coming and from the owner who is from all political parties. In connivance with them, they warm their pockets and leave. Due to these jeans companies, the smell of acid is spread around which is harmful for the health of the common man. After the closure of the factories in Ulhasnagar, people associated with this business have started their business in Ambernath, Bhiwandi, Dombivali, Kalyan rural circles by taking along the domineering people there. It is also known that due to Ambernath being nearest to Ulhasnagar, most of the factories have settled in Ambernath. There the business of jeans is going on indiscriminately with the blessings of some leaders. On all this too, like Ulhasnagar, a demand is being made to take strict action by cutting off the light, water connection.
