Kapurthala: Regarding the incident at Kapurthala Gurdwara in Punjab, Jalandhar’s IG has said that no trace of any sacrilege has been found in Gurdwara Sahib. An FIR has been registered under section 295A. We have got information about the attack on the police. Verification of the person killed is being done. If it appears to be murder, an FIR will be lodged accordingly.

The IG said that being a sensitive matter, the police exercised restraint. The number of people who managed to do so was more than the police. He said that there is an atmosphere of sentimentality among the people after the incident at Golden Temple. Let us tell you that the incident is from Nizampur village of Kapurthala, where a man abused Nishan Sahib in the Gurdwara on Sunday and after which the villagers thrashed him, due to which he died.
