Pimpri: Professionals now have to pay ten times more for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to obtain an Industry Business License. For this NOC, instead of 500 rupees, now five thousand rupees will be charged.

There are various industrial industries in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area. Necessary clearances are given by Maharashtra Pollution Control Board for Scrap Centre, Publishing Business, Laundry, RMC Plant and other industrial purposes.

    Application increasing day by day

Similarly licenses are issued for flour mills, bakery kundap machines etc. through business license of NMC. However, the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board does not allow this license without a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Environment Department of the Municipal Corporation before issuing it. So since last year the number of applications for obtaining No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Environment Department of the Municipal Corporation for the renewal of industries without starting this industry is increasing day by day.

Fees were increased 20 years ago

As per the resolution passed by the Standing Committee on 6th August, 2002, a fee of Rs.500 is currently charged for issuance of NOC. The fee of Rs 500 is very less as compared to the industries and businesses growing within the municipal limits and the facilities being provided to them by the Municipal Corporation. 20 years have passed since this fee was raised. Considering all this, the Municipal Corporation has decided to increase this fee ten times. According to this, now this fee will be increased to five thousand rupees. A proposal in this regard will be tabled in the next meeting of the Standing Committee.
