Indian Railways: The pace of corona virus infection in the country may have slowed down, but in the name of corona, the Indian Railways is leaving no stone unturned to loosen the pockets of the common man.
Railways has doubled the fare by just increasing the number of many trains. The fare of every category of trains being run in the name of festive season has been increased. Whereas in special trains the fare of Mail Express is already applicable.
According to media reports, about 100 trains run from Agra Cantt railway station every day, out of which 40 trains are being run in the name of festive season. Trains have long waiting lists.

15 rupees reservation charge
Railways have closed unreserved ticket counters. For booking general ticket, passengers have to pay Rs.15 extra. In such a situation, 10 to 15 rupees in second seating in festive special trains, 155 to 165 rupees in sleeper have to be paid extra.
Agra to Delhi fare
The second sitting fare from Agra usually costs Rs 105. But in the festive season, this ticket is available for Rs 115. On the other hand, the normal fare for sleeper class is Rs 175. But in the name of festive season, Rs 415 is being charged. Similarly, the fare of Third AC is Rs 555. 1100 rupees are being taken in this festive special train. Similarly, the fare of second AC is usually Rs 760, but in the festive special train, it is charging Rs 1432.
Agra to Prayagraj fare
The fare from Agra to Prayagraj normally is Rs 185. But in the festive special train, this fare becomes Rs 195. On the other hand, it is Rs 310 in sleeper class and Rs 415 in festive special train. Similarly, it is Rs 800 in Third AC and Rs 1150 in Festive Special train.
It has been said in this report that special trains have four to eight sleeper coaches. The fare for special sleeper is Rs 415 and in ordinary is Rs 175. According to Dainik Yatri Sangh, at present about 500 passengers travel from Agra Cantt to Delhi in sleeper coaches every day. On paying an extra Rs 240 per ticket, there is an additional profit of Rs 1.20 lakh in a day. In a month, profit of about Rs 36 lakh is being made only from the sleeper coach passengers of Delhi. There is no official figure of total profit.
