Indian Railway News: The Railway Coach Factory (RCF) of the Indian Railways at Kapurthala has launched the first prototype of the economy class Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) AC3-Tier coach. According to the release issued by the Ministry of Railways, it has been successfully tested. According to the Ministry of Railways, LHB economy class coaches are put in all mail / express trains, which have LHB coaches, after necessary assembly. However, it will not be included in special type trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto and Jan Shatabdi. This coach will have special facilities for the passengers. First of all, more and more passengers will be able to travel in it, apart from this, special care has been taken of the facilities of the passengers.
Features of the new variant of LHB AC 3-tier Coach
- There will be more space for the use of passengers and this will get rid of the problem like congestion inside the coach.
- More number of passengers can travel in a coach. A berth will be available for 83 passengers in a coach of LHB.
- PwD will have facility to enter coaches with wheelchairs. Apart from this, PwDs will not have any difficulty in going to the toilet and will also have wheelchair access.
- Facility of better cooling in coaches and individual AC vents for all berths.
- The seats will be comfortable and light weight. Apart from this, their maintenance will be easy.
- Passengers will get more facilities on the seat. In addition to the foldable snack tables, there will be facility of holder for water bottle, mobile phone and magazines.
- There will be separate lights and mobile charging points for each berth so that other passengers cannot be disturbed and you can read books on your seat.
- In this, the stairs have been designed to go to the middle and upper berths in such a way that it will be easy to go to the middle and upper berths.
- The problem will be less on the middle and upper berths as headroom has been increased.
- Indian and Western-style lavatories (toilet, washbasin) have been improved in design and now passengers will not complain.
- There will be no problem in finding your seat in the dark of night as the berth number will be highlighted and they will appear lightly in night lights as well.
- Materials have been used to make coaches according to international standards, which has led to fire safety improvement.
