Indian Railway News: It has become even easier now to travel comfortably and reach the destination at the earliest. The country’s fastest train has once again come on the tracks. Indian Railways has resumed the services of Vande Bharat and Gatimaan Express. Indian Railways has reinstated the New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra- New Delhi Vande Bharat Express and Hazrat Nizamuddin-Jhansi-Hazrat Nizamuddin Gatimaan Express and they are running on the tracks from 21st July. Train No. 22439 from New Delhi to Katra Vande Bharat Express and Train No. 22440 from Katra to New Delhi Gatimaan Express will run on remaining days except Tuesday. At the same time, train 12050 Gatimaan Express from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Jhansi and 12049 Gatimaan Express coming from Jhansi to Hazrat Nizamuddin will run on all days of the week except Friday.
10 additional Vande Bharat Express are planned
Indian Express reported a few days ago that Indian Railways is planning to run at least 10 new indigenous semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express. These trains will connect about 40 cities across the country. In February 2021 this year, a contract was signed with Medha to supply electrical systems for 44 Vande Bharat train sets. Now this engineering company has been asked to expedite its production plan so that at least two prototype train sets can be started by March next year. In addition to testing and trials to pass the Vande Bharat train in the contract, another condition has been added that the prototype train will have to complete a commercial journey of at least 1 lakh km with passengers, only then the lot will be ordered for production.

At present, two Vande Bharat trains are running on the tracks.
Talking about the present time, two indigenous semi-high speed Vende Bharat trains are running on the tracks. One of them is running between Delhi to Katra and the other is running between Delhi to Varanasi. Railways plans to run 100 such trains. The cost of these 100 Vande Bharat trains will be around Rs 11 thousand crore. The Railway Ministry’s new plan is to run more and more Vande Bharat Express by 2024 and for this three production units of the Railways – MCF at Rae Bareli, ICF at Chennai and ICF at Kapurthala will be utilized.
