COVID-19 Vaccine: India has stopped the consignment of Coronavirus Vaccine being sent to Britain. This has been done in the country to apply more vaccines to the citizens. However, for this reason the UK Health Minister Matt Hancock is now surrounded in his own country. He has admitted that the vaccine sent to Britain has been stopped by India. Due to this, the pace of vaccination in the UK is going to decrease. At the same time, now the British government has started persuading India about the vaccine.
Health Minister Hancock made it clear that the supply of the vaccine has been stopped from the Indian side. Due to this, the pace of vaccination in Britain has slowed down. Britain was to receive 5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from Serum Institute of India, the world’s largest vaccine-producing company. Britain had signed a deal with serum for 10 million vaccine doses. But the scheduled time of vaccine delivery has been extended.
India is giving priority to its citizens for vaccine
Serum Institute CEO Adar Poonawalla said that the Indian government has blocked the shipment of the vaccine. This was done so that the availability of vaccine could be ensured for Indian citizens. Poonawala said that the company is committed to assisting the UK. Last month, Poonawala had told other countries of the world that they should exercise restraint regarding the vaccine. He said that the company has been asked to give priority to the large demand of India and the poor countries for vaccine.
PM said, will talk with India on vaccine
Currently, the UK is running a vaccination campaign through the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines. At the same time, there is also a dispute with Britain’s European Union regarding the export of vaccine. British Prime Minister Boris Jhonson said that he would hold talks with the Government of India about the vaccination being stopped. Also, the dispute will be settled with the European Union.
