Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh (Uttar Pradesh), the round of raids of various agencies related to taxation including Income Tax is going on. On Tuesday, the Income Tax Department has raided several places, including the house and office of Ajay Chaudhary alias Sanjeev Nagar, close to the Samajwadi Party and owner of Noida-based real estate company ACE Group. Chaudhary is said to be close to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Raids are going on at a total of 40 places in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad including their project sites.
There is also information about raids on the ancestral village Mahrampur residence of builder Sanjeev alias Sanju in Baghpat. Along with this, the Income Tax Department team has raided the places of many people in Agra and Western Uttar Pradesh. Income tax raids have also been conducted at the house and office of Harsimran Singh Alagh, promoter of Nova Group in Agra.
Piyush Jain was also raided
Earlier last week, a raid was conducted at the premises of perfume trader Piyush Jain in Kanpur in which a huge amount of cash was recovered. After this, the Income Tax Department is conducting raids very actively in UP. On Sunday itself, the Income Tax Department had raided the premises of another perfume trader and MLC Pushpraj Jain associated with SP in Kanpur and Kannauj. Piyush Jain was raided by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) team and recovered 23 kg gold and hundreds of liters of sandalwood oil, including cash worth Rs 197.45 crore. Piyush Jain was also arrested after the raids and is currently in Kanpur jail. The BJP also described Piyush Jain as a businessman associated with the Samajwadi Party, but the SP had denied it. Pushpraj Jain’s house and office were raided by the Income Tax Department and he has also been taken into custody.

On Tuesday, the Income Tax Department also conducted raids in Baghpat district of UP. Here the Income Tax Department team reached and raided the premises of Ajay Rathi, associated with SP.
