Nashik: Medicines worth Rs 11 crore are to be purchased from the Zilla Parishad Health Department. The contractor had told the administration the rate higher than the rate fixed by the government. After raising objections by the members, the administration has now decided to call rates for high-priced medicines in a new form through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal. The District Planning Committee had approved a fund of Rs 11 crore 50 lakh for the purchase of Corona medicines and related items for the financial year 2021-22. Through this, 35 types of medicines will be made available to the primary health centers of rural areas.
For this, the rates of medicines were invited from various pharmaceutical companies. After this, after its rate was fixed by the Zilla Parishad Drug Committee, it was placed in the general body for its approval. The rate fixed by the government while buying medicines for the government hospital was fixed by the institution. But the Nashik Zilla Parishad Health Department had proposed to the general body for approval of the company, which offered a rate of ten percent more than the rate fixed by the government. The health department had made public the information about saving two crore rupees in buying antigen test kit during drug purchase. But out of 35 medicines, the rate of 15 medicines was more than the rate fixed by the government.

to be submitted from the department
Because of this, members Manisha Pawar and Dr. Atmaram Kumbharde repeatedly opposed it. There was a lot of uproar in the general body regarding this. For this reason this proposal was not approved. In order not to violate the rules, if the rate of the institution is 10 percent more than the rate fixed by the government, it has been decided to put such medicines again on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal and ask for a new rate. In such a situation, again for the purchase of medicines, a new rate will have to be presented from the department.
