- Polling was peaceful except in Korpana tehsil
Chandrapur, On Tuesday, on an average, 70 to 75 percent polling is likely to be primary in Chandrapur district’s Pombhurna, Gondpipri, Korpana, Sindewahi-Lonwahi, Jivati and Savali municipal council elections. Voters performed the duty of voting along with the elderly in the bitter cold. In Korpana Nagar Panchayat, Congress’s District General Secretary father Vijay Bavane and candidate son Nitin Bavane arrested and released Vijay Bavane and Nitin Bavane for pelting stones at the four wheeler vehicle of a BJP official. Barring this incident, polling was peaceful at all places.
Out of the total 102 places of Nagar Panchayat, voting was taken on Tuesday for 82 places of other reserved divisions except Magas category of 20 citizens. With voting, the future of 287 candidates is locked in the machine. There is a cold wave in the district for the last 3 to 4 days. Due to which the voting percentage was low during the morning. From 11 o’clock in the morning, slowly the voters started coming out of the house to vote. In the afternoon, voters started queuing at the polling station.
Voting was taken at 14 centers in Savli Nagar Panchayat. Polling was taken at 22 such polling stations in Pombhurna-13, Gondpipri-14, Korpana-14, Jiwati 13, Sindewahi-Lonwahi Nagar Panchayat. The number of voters in 6 Nagar Panchayats was 42,809.
87.81 percent polling in Korpana Nagar Panchayat
Polling was held in a peaceful atmosphere in Korpana Nagar Panchayat. A total of 87.81 percent voting took place here. There were 3 thousand 412 voters for 14 division. Out of which 1551 male and 1445 female such voters cast their vote. On the background of the elections, strong police arrangements were made in every chowk_chowk of Korpana city.
For this, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Kulkarni, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sushilkumar Nayak, a solid arrangement was made under the leadership of Thanedar Sadashiv Dhakne. So in the election process, Sub-Divisional Officer Sampat Khalate, Tehsildar Mahendra Waklekar, Chief Officer Visakha Shelki were keeping a close watch.
Sindevahi-Lonwahi 76 prs
In the Sindewahi-Lonwahi Nagar Panchayat elections, voting was held peacefully for 14 divisions on Tuesday. In this, 76 percent polling took place at a total of 25 polling stations. The future of 66 candidates is locked in the machine. Nagar Panchayat Sindewahi – Lonavahi is divided into 17 divisions. Due to the cancellation of OBC reservation, the election to three divisions was postponed.
With this, direct elections were held in 14 divisions on Tuesday. On Tuesday, voting was taken at a total of 25 polling stations in 10 government, semi-government buildings in the city. Polling was conducted peacefully at all the centres. No improper type of incident happened at the centre. Police arrangements were made in the city. Till 5:30 pm, 76 percent polling took place.
80 percent polling in Pombhurna
Polling was held peacefully in Pombhurna Municipality elections on Tuesday. In the elections held for 13 divisions, 3009 voters performed their duty. An average of 80.19 percent polling was recorded in Pombhurna. The future of 61 candidates of 13 division is locked in the machine.
The voting process was taken at 13 centers. To maintain law and order, 7 police officers, 100 police personnel took the front.

The weekly market in Pombhurna was closed on Tuesday due to elections. Liquor shops were kept closed. There was less crowd on the roads.
78 percent polling in Savli
Elections were held in Savli Nagar Panchayat on Tuesday. Of the 17 divisions, 45 candidates were in the fray for 14 divisions. There was 78 percent voting for this. Voting started from 7.30 am. Voting was initially low due to cold. 44 percent voting took place till 1.30 pm. The pace of polling increased from 2 pm onwards. The last vote was 78 percent. There were 45 candidates in the fray in 14 divisions. Voting was peaceful.
66.71 in Jivati
Polling was held peacefully at 17 polling stations in Jivati Nagar Panchayat. Here the question of voting in the afternoon is 66.71. Here out of 2,110 voters, 1028 female voters and 1082 male voters performed the duty of voting.
63.14 in Gondpimpri
Polling was held peacefully at 17 polling stations in Gondpimpri Nagar Panchayat. There was 63.14 percent polling till 3.30 pm. Here out of 3361 voters, women 1752, 1609 male voters performed the duty of voting.
Nagbhid by-elections decreased
For the by-election of Nagbhid Municipal Council, out of 1108 voters, women 529 and 579 such voters, a total of 1108 voters voted till 3.30 pm. This question was recorded as 39.49.
Voting started at 7.30 am. The polling time was till 5.30 pm, till 3.30 pm on an average 62.82 percent polling was done. Elections were held for 82 divisions of 6 Nagarpanchayat and 1 such division of Nagbhid Municipality. For this, the District Co-Commissioner Municipal Council Administration gave information about keeping 94 polling stations well equipped.
Counting of votes will be held on January 19
The election of 3 divisions was postponed due to the cancellation of OBC reservation. But the election will be held on January 18 in the 3rd division. With the counting of votes for both the elections being held on January 19, the candidate will have to wait for victory.
