The news of seven kilograms of illegal uranium recovered on Thursday in Mumbai city has clouded concern in Pakistan. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has also demanded a proper investigation into the matter. Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesman Zahid Hafiz Chaudhary said in a statement that the safety of nuclear items is the most important and should be properly investigated.
Zahid Hafiz Chaudhary issued a statement on Saturday, saying, ‘There are reports that 7 kg of natural uranium has been recovered from unauthorized people in India. This is a matter of great concern. For any country, the safety of nuclear items should be the most important for that. This matter needs to be investigated properly.
Maharashtra ATS took major action
A few days ago, the Maharashtra ATS, in a major action, arrested two people with uranium used to make atomic bombs. 7 kg of uranium was found from them. It is being told that its price in the international market is about 22 crores. According to the ATS, Jigar Pandya and Abu Tahir were in the process of selling this uranium. ATS met him only as a customer. The investigation also revealed that its purity is more than 90 percent.
We have noted with serious concern reports about seizure of more than 7 Kg natural uranium from unauthorised persons in #India. Security of nuclear materials should be the top priority for all countries, and there is a need for thorough investigation of the matter.

Pak Foreign Ministry said this
Pak Foreign Ministry spokesman said that no care should be taken regarding the safety of nuclear material. There should be a serious investigation into how uranium came out in such a non-official manner. It is believed that this uranium was either stolen or mined illegally. Although it was completely raw material right now.
Issues not raised on international stage
Pakistan, however, has not raised this issue with the international forum International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as the country is responsible for security. Therefore, there is no interference of the UN monitoring body. However, Pakistan says that India should inform the IAEA about this issue because the smuggling of this uranium could have been done to the countries which are banned.
