Bangladesh, Pakistan and West Indies took the last three spots on the basis of their team rankings after the Women’s World Cup qualifiers were canceled due to the uncertainties related to the Corona pandemic. The last women’s global competition was played in Australia in March 2020 as the T20 World Cup, in which the hosts defeated India in the final.
Women’s ODI World Cup was held in 1973
The Women’s ODI World Cup was started in 1973, two years before the Men’s World Cup, but India is yet to become a champion in it. India participated in the tournament nine out of 11 times, with their best performances being in 2005 and 2017 when the team finished as runners-up.
