Hyderabad, A massive fire broke out in the historic Secunderabad Club building in Hyderabad early on Sunday, damaging most of the building. However, there is no report of any casualty in the fire incident. police gave this information. A police officer told PTI that the police patrol saw flames rising from the building at around 3.15 am and informed the fire brigade about it, following which seven fire tenders, including an army fire brigade. was sent to the spot.

The fire was brought under control by 6 am. The official said that the fire was very serious and based on preliminary investigation, it appears that the fire was caused due to short-circuit. Photos of the incident posted on social media showed the building being completely engulfed in flames.
According to the website of Secunderabad Club, the club was founded by the British in 1878 and is one of the oldest clubs in India. Situated in a 22-acre campus, the club’s over a century old ‘Main Clubhouse’ has been preserved in its original form. It has got heritage status from Hyderabad Urban Development Authority. The club has a cricket ground and several recreational facilities as well as facilities for dining, reading, indoor and outdoor games.
