Meanwhile, for the first time in the third wave of corona epidemic in the state, more than 44 thousand cases have been reported and 12 people have lost their lives. Whereas in the capital Mumbai (Mumbai), more than 19 thousand cases have been registered. Apart from this, Omicron has been confirmed in a sample of 207 people in the state. This information was given by the Health Department of Maharashtra on Sunday.
According to the data released by the Health Department, 44,388 people have been found corona positive in the state in the last 24 hours. While 12 deaths have been registered. After which the total number of infected has increased to 69,20,044 and the number of dead to 1,41,639.

In the last 24 hours, 15,351 people have become corona free in the state. So far 65,72,432 people have been cured of this epidemic in the state. At present, 2,02,259 active patients are being treated in the state. Today the recovery rate is 94.98 and the death rate is 2.04 percent. At the same time, 10,76,996 people are in home quarantine and 2,614 people are in institutional quarantine.

Omicron has 207 new patients
According to the Health Department, 207 cases of Omicron have been registered in Maharashtra in 24 hours. Out of which the report of 155 infected was B. J. Medical College and 52 reports have been received from the National Institute of Virology.
Sangli has the highest number of 57 cases among new Omicron infected, while 40 in capital Mumbai, 22 in Pune city, 21 in sub-capital Nagpur, 15 in Pimpri Chinchwad, 12 in Thane, 8 in Kolhapur, 6 in Amravati, 5 in Osmanabad, 4-4 cases have been found in Buldhana and Akola. While 3 cases have been reported in Gondia, 2 each in Nandurbar, Satara and Gadchiroli. Apart from this, 1 case each has been registered in Aurangabad, Latur, Jalna and Mira Bhayander.
After the arrival of new cases of Omicron in the state, the total number of infected people has increased to 1,216. Out of which 454 patients have so far defeated this dangerous virus.
