Lucknow: The Anganwadi sisters, who are being appreciated everywhere for their splendid work during the Corona period, have been awarded double gifts by the double engine government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has not only fulfilled the hope of increasing the monthly honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers, for the brilliant work of the COVID period, they will get Rs. An incentive allowance of Rs 500 has also been announced.
In the meeting of Anganwadi workers and assistants organized at Indira Gandhi Foundation on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi said that at present there are 3,06,829 Anganwadi workers, mini Anganwadi workers and helpers in the state. Appreciating their important role and excellent work in nation and society building, the state government is increasing the honorarium of all. All have been equipped with smartphones, growth monitoring devices etc.

Departmental training is also being conducted. Such Anganwadi workers, where currently getting a monthly honorarium of ₹ 5500, are now paying Rs. Will get 8000. Mini Anganwadi workers will now get Rs. 4250 instead of Rs. Monthly honorarium will be available up to 6500, while Rs. 2750 honorarium assistants will now get Rs. 4000 will be given honorarium. Not only this, while appreciating the excellent work as a member of the monitoring committee during the COVID period, the Chief Minister said that for the entire COVID period from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2022, every Anganwadi worker and mini Anganwadi worker would get Rs. 500 and assistants Rs. 250 additional incentive allowance will also be given. The announcement of the Chief Minister was welcomed by all the workers and assistants with applause.
Before the year 2017, it was believed that Anganwadi workers do nothing. The previous government did the work of putting the blame of its failure on them.
Today the same Anganwadi workers are contributing in making the state a ‘Healthy and Prosperous Uttar Pradesh’ with their efficiency.

Today, women self-help groups are preparing nutritious food and the sisters of Anganwadi are distributing it rabi. Everything is so arranged, that’s why Uttar Pradesh tops the best in the health standards of the Government of India.
CM also mentioned about eradication of meningitis
The CM also mentioned about the eradication of meningitis, which has been a factor in the death of children in eastern Uttar Pradesh for decades. He said that today meningitis has completely ended. Earlier children used to die and the governments used to remain mute spectators by observing silence, but today eastern Uttar Pradesh has become free from meningitis. The work which could not be done in 40 years was done by our government in just four years. Referring to the challenges of the COVID period, the CM said that it was the devotion of these Anganwadi sisters towards their work that they remained in the front line all the time since the first wave of COVID. Not only did the work of delivering nutrition from house to house, looking after the nutrition of pregnant, lactating women and pregnant, newborn, also helped in door-to-door tracing, identification, medicine kit distribution and then vaccination of corona patients.
COVID protocol and vaccination necessary
With the cooperation of everyone, such work was done in UP, which got appreciation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NITI Aayog, World Health Organization and today, Dr. Robert Malone, a scientist of the prestigious company ‘Pfizer’, which makes COVID vaccine, is also appreciating UP. Dr. Robert is also telling the need of research on the COVID management of UP. Referring to the current situation of COVID, the Chief Minister said that the new variant of COVID is much less dangerous than before. Health experts also believe that the need for medical oxygen or hospitalization of people infected with this variant is negligible, but COVID protocol and vaccination are very important. He said that vaccination is a security cover, Anganwadi workers have an important role to play in ensuring that every eligible person gets it.
Anganwadi will be the first school of the child
Expressing happiness over the success of the efforts of the Anganwadi centers to operate in their own buildings in the last 5 years, CM Yogi said that according to our new education policy, these Anganwadi centers will be the first schools for children in the age group of 3-5 years. In such a situation, the urgent need of their building construction is being met. On the special occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated / laid the foundation stone of 585 new Anganwadi centers in different districts. He also mentioned the special affection towards Anganwadi centers by Governor Anandiben Patel and said that the Governor is an inspiration in improving the condition of Anganwadi centers. In the program, Women and Child Development Minister Swati Singh also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for the rejuvenation of Anganwadi centers for five years.
