Wardha. On the basis of intelligence, goods worth lakhs of gutkha and flavored tobacco were caught in the action of Ramnagar Police and Food and Drug Administration Department.
According to information received from police sources, on Wednesday afternoon, Ramnagar police caught the mini matador number MH 32Q 6569 at Shantinagar intersection. On search of the vehicle, the Food and Drug Administration officials reached the spot as soon as it came to the notice that there was a large quantity of fragrant betel nut and gutkha in it, but during this action, the driver of the vehicle and one other accused has information about absconding from the spot.
The police started further investigation by bringing the goods along with the vehicle to the Ramnagar police station. He contacted Ramnagar police and ordered the investigation, after which the investigation progressed in the case late on Thursday, after which the Panchs were called to the police station and the goods caught till late night were investigated in front of them.
In this, there is information about the presence of gutkha and flavored tobacco of various companies in about 15 sacks, question marks are being presented about why the police and FDA did not proceed with the action despite being lying in the goods station for twenty-four hours. Both the accused managed to escape.
