Gurugram (Haryana). A case has been registered against the builder of a residential building in Gurugram after a part of it collapsed. One woman died in the accident and two people are trapped under the debris. Officials gave this information on Friday. He said that the operation is going on to rescue the trapped people and an inquiry has been ordered in the matter.
A case has been registered against the builder of Chintels Paradiso on the complaint of the husband of the woman who lost her life in the accident on Thursday night, officials said. Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav has ordered an inquiry. Yadav said, “A special investigation team has been constituted and it will investigate the allegations of negligence. Rescue operation is going on.”
Officials said that first one room of an apartment located on the sixth floor of the Chintels Paradiso residential complex in Sector-109 collapsed, after which the side till the first floor collapsed. Teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are engaged in the rescue operation.
A fire brigade has also been deployed. A senior official said that the deceased has been identified as Ekta Bhardwaj (31). Arun Kumar Srivastava and his wife Sunita are trapped under the debris. A complaint has been lodged by Rajesh Bhardwaj, husband of Ekta Bhardwaj, a D-Block resident of the campus. In his complaint, he said, “I got a call from my son, Reality Bhardwaj, that the roof of some of the apartments in our tower has collapsed. My wife suffered injuries in the incident and died around 7 pm.”

Rescue and police teams are working at the scene and after removing the debris, the body of my wife was retrieved and taken to the hospital. He said in his complaint, “The incident happened due to negligence and substandard construction work on the part of Chintels Group MD Ashok Saloman and the contractor. More people could have died because of this.” Deputy Commissioner of Police Deepak Saharan said, “The FIR has been registered and investigation is going on. Action will be taken as per law.”
