Centre notifies amended GNCT Act: The central government has issued a large order amid increasing cases of Corona virus infection in Delhi. The National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Second (Amendment) Act, 2021 has been approved by the Central Government. After this, the government in Delhi now means LG of Delhi. That is, all the big and important decisions in Delhi can be implemented only after the permission of the Lieutenant Governor. The notification by the Ministry of Home Affairs states that the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Act, 2021 is notified with effect from 27 April; Now in Delhi, the meaning of the government is the Lieutenant Governor.

Additional powers to the Lieutenant Governor
According to the objectives and reasons of the law, now in the context of the legislation passed in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, ‘Government’ has become the meaning of the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. In this, the condition of Delhi is of the Union Territory, so that the ambiguities in the election of legislative provisions can be noticed. A subsection has been added in section 21 in this regard. Under this, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has got some additional powers. According to the amended law, the Delhi government will have to get approval on decisions related to the legislature 15 days before LG and about 7 days before administrative matters.
What is in this law
The law states that the Lieutenant Governor must be given the opportunity to exercise the power entrusted under clause 4 of article 239A of the constitution in the selected category of cases. The objectives of the law states that the said law will promote a cordial relationship between the Legislature and the Executive and define the responsibilities of the elected government and governors in accordance with the constitutional scheme of governance of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The Delhi National Capital Territory Governance Amendment Bill -2021, which empowered the LG of Delhi, was also passed by the Rajya Sabha after the Lok Sabha last month.
