At the same time, former Cisco CEO John Chambers has announced that he will donate one million dollars (about 7.5 crore rupees) to India. This organization has raised the amount of funds being collected on social media to help India from five million dollars to 10 million dollars. ‘Seva International’ said that the oxygen concentrator left for New Delhi from Atlanta on Thursday. It told that the United Parcel Service (UPS) Foundation is delivering this goods without any amount.
Top businessmen will donate 7.5 crores for oxygen
John Chambers, a top US businessman and former CEO of Cisco, has announced a donation of one million dollars (about Rs 7.5 crore) for the goal of sending one lakh oxygen units to India. John Chambers is the president of the US India Strategic and Partnership Forum (USISPF), an India-focused business advisory group in the US. The highest amount of donation ever announced by an industrialist for private COVID-19 relief efforts in India is announced. Chambers tweeted, “I am personally giving one million US dollars to the target of sending one lakh oxygen units to India.” He also requested other people to donate.
Indian Ambassador Sandhu discusses Corona with American business community
India’s Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu held talks with members of the business community on the current state of the Corona epidemic in India. The US Chamber of Commerce hosted a digital meeting in this regard on Thursday. During the conversation, Sandhu told the business community about the materials that India needs. These include oxygen concentrators, cylinders, ventilator oxygen production plants, and medicines such as ramdesvir and tocilizumab.
Sandhu tweeted, We applaud the Chamber for prompt response and mobilization of resources from the American business community to support India to meet COVID’s challenge. At the same time, he also thanked (US) President Joe Biden for standing shoulder to shoulder with India in this challenging time.
