Pune: The Cyber Police of Pune city has arrested a woman for joining the ‘Friendship Club’. Friendship Club is alleged to have cheated more than 60 lakh rupees by luring men to earn money by having physical relations with rich and high-profile women. The police have identified the accused as Deepali Kailas Shinde (28), a resident of Katke Basti in Vanwadi. The arrest of the accused came after a senior citizen of Pune lodged an FIR.
According to the police, the complainant saw an advertisement published in a newspaper and contacted the mobile phone number mentioned in the advertisement. Police said that the accused told the complainant that money can be earned by having physical relations with rich and high profile women through friendship club.

The accused also reportedly said that the club would arrange a meeting with the complainant’s women, but for this he would have to pay a ‘security fee’. Thereafter, the complainant was given bank account numbers to transfer the amount. The official said that the complainant initially transferred Rs 2 lakh. Later, the fraudsters allegedly got him to transfer more money for various purposes. Police said that the fraudsters duped the complainant Rs 60.02 lakh. After coming to know about the fraud, the complainant approached the Pune City Police and lodged a complaint of cheating.
5 days police remand for accused
Senior Inspector D.S. A cyber police team comprising Hake, Inspector Sangeeta Mali and Sub-Inspector Amol Waghmare launched an investigation, which revealed Deepali’s involvement. The police team has arrested him from Vanavadi. The court has sent the accused to police custody for 5 days for further investigation.
