The picture of the results of the five state assembly elections has become clear. It was considered a major election before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Its results are giving indications of future politics. But, one thing becomes clear if you pay attention. That is, has the people of the country done bye-bye to the Congress? This is because the country’s oldest political party is going to win only 58 seats out of the total 690. This number may change slightly when the results are officially declared. Let’s try to look at the picture a little more closely.
Only 8 percent seats in the account of Congress
There are a total of 690 seats in the five states. Of these, maximum 403 are in UP. 117 seats are in Punjab. There are 70 seats in Uttarakhand, 40 in Goa and 60 in Manipur. Congress got only 2 seats in UP. In Punjab, 18 seats seem to be getting. 12 in Goa. Congress can get 17 seats in Uttarakhand and 9 in Manipur. In this way, the Congress could win only 58 seats out of 690 in the assembly elections of five states. In this way, only 8.4 percent seats are coming in the account of Congress.

Congress’s land is getting weak in UP
The worst situation is in Congress’s UP. This time only 2 seats are available. Earlier in the 2017 state assembly elections, the Congress had got 7 seats. Then Congress contested on 114 seats. In the 2012 assembly elections, the Congress contested on 355 seats in the state. Out of this, it could win 28 seats. This shows that the Congress is continuously weakening in Uttar Pradesh despite lakhs of efforts. It is said that the path to the Prime Minister’s chair in the country passes through Uttar Pradesh. In such a situation, when the situation of a party is like this in Uttar Pradesh, then its future can be guessed.
The slogan ‘I can fight a girl’ did not work
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi was entrusted with the responsibility of Uttar Pradesh by the party with great hope. During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Priyanka’s entry in the politics of UP had returned enthusiasm among the Congress workers. It was expected that the result of the hard work done during the Lok Sabha elections will be visible in the 2022 assembly elections of UP. Priyanka’s hard work was not lacking. She gave the slogan ‘I am a girl, I can fight’. Due to this, the popularity of the Congress among women again seemed to be increasing. But, the clouds covering the sky returned without rain.
Punjab also slipped out of hand
There was news of election strategist Prashant Kishor joining the Congress. He had won the Trinamool Congress in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections. The news of his joining the Congress had raised hopes that a miracle like West Bengal could happen again. It was believed that Prashant Kishor was the brain behind the slogan ‘Ladki hoon fight hoon’. But, the way Congress has been busy on the electoral field of UP, it seems that Prashant Kishor also has his limits.
The Congress was expected to snatch power from the BJP in Uttarakhand. But, she could not even come in the competition of thorns. It has lost power in Punjab. It seems as if the Congress worked hard to lose the power of Punjab. Congress was seen bowing before Navjot Singh Sidhu’s rebellious attitude. Captain Amarinder Singh had given good governance to the state. But, the Congress saw a future in Sidhu. Sidhu’s political power can be gauged from the fact that the person who dreamed of becoming the Chief Minister could not win even an assembly election. Yes, he did send the Congress in good health to the ICU in Punjab.
