The first death due to side effects has been confirmed in India after taking the corona vaccine. However, experts believe that the advantages of the vaccine are far more and the disadvantages are very less. The government panel that studied the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine has confirmed the first death due to anaphylaxis (severe atopic reaction) after vaccination.
According to a report by the National AEFI Committee, a 68-year-old man died after being vaccinated on March 8, 2021. The chairman of the National AEFI Committee said that this is the first death related to COVID-19 vaccination, which has happened due to anaphylaxis. It re-emphasizes that one must wait at the vaccination center for 30 minutes after being vaccinated. He explained that most anaphylactic reactions occur during this period and early treatment avoids death.
The committee had examined 5 such cases on 5 February, 8 on 9 March and 8 on 31 March.
2.7 deaths in 10 lakh vaccine doses
The report said that according to the data for the first week of April, there were 2.7 deaths per 10 lakh vaccine doses and 4.8 hospitalizations per 10 lakh doses. The panel says that the cases of deaths and hospitalizations do not confirm that it is due to the vaccine. According to the report, only a proper investigation can help in understanding whether there is a connection between the vaccine and the vaccine.
The report of the government panel said that of the 31 tested cases, 18 were considered not related to vaccination, 7 were intermediate, 2 cases related to the vaccine product, 1 were panic-related reactions.

Vaccine product-related reactions can be linked to vaccination based on current scientific evidence. Examples of these include allergic reactions etc. Intermediate reactions are those that occur soon after vaccination, but data from current clinical trials do not provide complete evidence that they are caused by the vaccine. For this more study and analysis is needed.
The panel said the benefits of vaccination far outweigh the very low risk of harm. And all the visible signs of damage are constantly being reviewed.
