On the Republic Day day of protest against the new agricultural laws, the sword of action has been hanging on the farmers’ movements everywhere after the violence in the Red Fort and many places in Delhi during the tractor parade by the farmers. Along with Delhi Police, now the UP government has also come into action mode. A large number of Delhi and UP Police have been deployed at Ghazipur and Singhu Border on Thursday afternoon. Electricity and water supply has been cut at Ghazipur Border. Also, the police has asked the farmers to clear the road today. The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered all DMs and SSPs to end the agitation for all farmers in the state.
Meanwhile, Naresh Tikait, president of the Indian Farmers Union, has ended the picket. Naresh Tikait said that we will end the picket. Rakesh Tikait, the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union on the Ghazipur border, crying that the movement would continue. He alleged that there is a conspiracy to kill people here. Along with this, Rakesh Tikait has announced a hunger strike. He said that the administration removed the water facility but still we will sit here, water will come from the village, only then I will drink. He said that if anything happens, I will hang here. Tikait said that Dharana protests will not end until talks with the government. Till the people of the village do not bring water from tractors, I will not drink water. The administration removed the water, cut off electricity, removed all facilities.
According to sources, till late tonight the police of Delhi and UP may conduct a joint operation to remove the agitators. Senior officials of administration and police including DM are present on the spot to take stock of the situation. Preparations have been completed by the district administration to vacate the protest site. Police are in action only after the violence during the tractor rally in Delhi. A lookout notice has been issued to farmer leaders. A case of treason has been registered against those who committed violence at the Red Fort. Now the focus of the police is on the Singhu and Ghazipur border, where farmers have been agitating for more than two months.
