- 82 crore assistance to farmers
Akola. The 47 percent paisawari announced by the revenue department has made the farmers happy. So far, Rs 82.55 crore has been deposited in the accounts of farmers who are suffering losses due to heavy rains this year. This information has been given by the Disaster Management Department of the District Magistrate’s Office. Similarly, 118 crores have been distributed to all the seven tehsils by the District Magistrate’s office so far. The total number of affected farmers is 2 lakh 1 thousand 417. Out of which 1 lakh 39 thousand 425 farmers have got benefit so far, this information has been received from the sources.
During the Kharif season, the district has received two months less rain and two months more. Due to which hundreds of hectares of cotton and soybean crops have been damaged in the district. Similarly, moong and urad crops have also been ruined. The crop which was in good condition in the field was also destroyed. During the months of June to July and August to September, a joint survey was conducted by the administration at each village level by village sevaks, patwaris and agricultural assistants. Sources said that after this financial assistance was being distributed.
Farmers will get the benefit of various facilities
With the declaration of 47 percent final paisewari in the district this year, farmers will get the benefit of various facilities. In which revenue rebate, cooperative loan restructuring, moratorium on recovery of loans related to agriculture, 33.5 percent exemption in the existing electricity bill of agricultural pumps, waiving examination fee for school and college students, some of the work criteria under employment guarantee scheme Exemptions, where necessary, include use of tankers for supply of drinking water, non-connection of farmers’ agricultural pumps in villages, etc.
Crop loss on 1 lakh 31 hectares
Due to the heavy rains in the district between 21 and 24 July 2021, crops in an area of 1 lakh 31 thousand 494.94 hectares have been damaged. Due to which the District Magistrate Office has distributed 72 crore 25 lakh rupees to the respective tehsils as compensation. Sources said that the assistance amount has been deposited in the accounts of 1 lakh 28 thousand 614 farmers.
7 crore 68 lakh Rs. credit to farmers account
In the rains in June and July, the soil of the fields was washed away along with the crops, for which 31 crores have been distributed by the District Magistrate’s office to the respective tehsils. So far Rs 7 crore 68 lakh has been deposited in the accounts of 6,807 farmers. Similarly, due to heavy rains in August and September, crops of 3,720.25 hectares of 4,727 farmers were destroyed. Due to which 2 crore 79 lakh rupees. As compensation, it has been distributed to the tehsils by the office of the District Magistrate. Out of this, Rs. 2 crore 61 lakh. Sources have given information about the deposits being made in the accounts of 4,004 farmers.
