Around 18.68 crore voters will vote at 2.7 lakh booths in the assembly constituency. Reserved seats for SC-ST
- Assam- The term of the present assembly will continue on 31 May. For 8 SC and 16 ST in 126 seats
Will be reserved - Tamil Nadu The term of the current assembly will end on 24 May. Of the 234 seats, 44 will be reserved for SC and 2 seats will be reserved for ST candidates.
- West Bengal- The term of the current assembly will end on 30 May. Of the 294 seats, 68 SC and 16 ST will be reserved for candidates.
- Kerala- The term of the current assembly will end on 1 June. In 140 seats, 14 SCs and 2 STs will be reserved for candidates.
- Puducherry 5 of the 30 seats will be reserved for SC candidates.

- West Bengal – Trinamool Congress government was formed in West Bengal under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee after winning 294 seats in West Bengal Assembly. Trinamool Congress got 209 seats, BJP 27, Congress 23 and CPI (M) 19 seats.
- Assam – BJP won government in the state under the leadership of Sarbananda Sonowal by winning 60 seats in the 126-member Assam Assembly. Congress got 19 seats in the election.
- Tamil Nadu – AIDMK formed the government under Jayalalithaa winning 124 seats in the 234-seat Tamil Nadu Assembly. However, after Jayalalithaa’s death, the state was commanded first by O Panneerselvam and then by EK Palaniswami. DMK got 90 seats and Congress got 7 seats.
