Nashik: Voting is in full swing for the election of a total of 87 seats of 6 Nagar Panchayats of Nashik district. Here the BJP has fielded its candidates on the maximum number of 78 seats. After that NCP has fielded candidates on 61 seats, Shiv Sena on 46 seats and Congress on 33 seats. The special thing is that the split in Mahavikas Aghadi in all the six nagar panchayats of the district has given color to the elections.
In Dindori out of 17 wards, 63 candidates had filed 82 applications in 15 wards. Here 30 applications of 11 candidates were withdrawn. So far 52 candidates are in the fray. In Kalwan, 48 candidates had filed nominations in 14 wards. Here 9 candidates withdrew their applications. So now the election will be held on 39 seats. In Peth tehsil, 75 candidates had filed nominations for 17 wards. Here two applications were rejected, one withdrew. That’s why elections are being held on 72 seats. In Niphad, four have withdrawn their names. In such a situation, 43 candidates are in the fray for 14 seats at present. In Surgana also 2 candidates have withdrawn their names. Therefore, elections will be held on 17 seats in 72 assembly constituencies. In Devla, 38 applications were received for 11 seats. Out of them 5 nominations were withdrawn.
