Pune: A living example of how people are sacrificing moneylenders has come to the fore in Pune. In the greed of money, an elderly woman was exploited in such a way that the situation came to beg. However, alert citizens and the Khadak Police have rescued the elderly woman from the clutches of the moneylender. It is learned that this moneylender has recovered Rs 8 lakh from the elderly woman in lieu of a loan of Rs 40,000. The lender moneylender has been arrested by the Kharak police.
The complainant of the case is a 70-year-old woman living within the limits of Khadak police station. She has two daughters and her husband died many years ago. She has retired from the Municipal Corporation as a sweeper.

The woman had borrowed Rs 40,000 from accused Dilip Vijay Waghmare (52) five years ago for the treatment of her grandson. After that the elderly woman took a loan from the bank and returned 40 thousand rupees to the moneylender. During this he paid Rs 1 lakh as interest.
The accused used to take pension money
The accused took advantage of the illiteracy of the elderly woman. He was keeping the woman’s bank passbook and two ATM cards with him. The woman was getting a pension of Rs 16,000 per month. By giving one to two thousand rupees per month to the woman out of the pension deposited in the woman’s account, the accused would have withdrawn the remaining amount himself. Due to which, even the medical and daily expenses of the woman fell. For every penny, the elderly woman started begging to meet her needs.

For her livelihood, the woman used to beg in front of Saras Bagh every day. A man who had come to this place to worship Lord Ganesha inquired about the woman. After getting the information, the man brought the woman straight to the Kharak police station. Senior Inspector of Khadak police station Shrihari Bhairat heard the whole matter. Thereafter, they immediately arrested the accused Waghmare for giving him illegal loans. He has been sent to police custody. The accused has so far taken 8 lakh rupees from the elderly woman instead of 40 thousand rupees. This action was taken by Senior Inspector Shrihari Bahirat, Sub-Inspector Yashpal Suryavanshi and his squad under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Priyanka Naranware.
