The e-Shram card received after enrollment here will be accepted all over India. Those who enroll in this will get accident insurance coverage under PMSBY. An amount of Rs 2 lakh will be given in case of accidental death or temporary disability and Rs 1 lakh in case of partial disability.
The workers will have a Universal Account Number on the e-Shram Card, which will be accepted across the country. Now they will no longer need to register at multiple places to get social security benefits. If a worker has registered on the e-Shram portal and if he gets into an accident, then he will get Rs 2 lakh on death or permanent physical disability. 1 lakh will be given in case of partially disabled. Apart from this, the benefits available under social security will be available through e-Shram. Along with this, it will also be easy to get help from the central and state government in difficult situations like disaster or epidemic.

The government had launched the e-Shram portal on 26 August with the objective of maintaining a database of workers in the unorganized sector. The logo of this portal was launched by Union Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav. The objective of this scheme is the integration of social security schemes of the government.
