Mumbai Two days have passed since the dust storm that came from the Gulf to Mumbai, but there has not been much improvement in the pollution level in Mumbai. On Thursday, Mumbai’s air quality was recorded at 310 AQI, which falls in the very poor category. The dust storm went away after polluting Mumbai, but left the dust brought with it in the atmosphere.
Gufran Baug, director of the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), which monitors the air quality situation, said the dust storm had ended two days ago, but the pollutants trapped inside are likely to be released due to cold weather. The reasons remain, now when the temperature will increase and strong winds will blow, then there is scope for improvement in the air quality.
