Navi Mumbai: Navi Mumbai Police has arrested 5 members of a gang smuggling diesel from the sea route, from whom the police seized 21400 liters of diesel, 2 A total of 35 lakh rupees including boat and cash have been recovered. All these accused have been kept in police custody on the orders of the court.
According to Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Vipin Kumar Singh, a total of 5 people including Asif, Praveen, Vitthal and Dutta have been arrested in the said case. All these accused, who were caught by the police, are residents of Raigad district and Mumbai. All these accused have been arrested by joint action team of Navi Mumbai Police Crime Branch, local police and State Food Supplies Department. This action was taken under the guidance of Suresh Mengde, Deputy Commissioner of Crime Branch of Police Navi Mumbai Police.

Ships from abroad were taken for diesel
According to Police Commissioner Vipin Kumar Singh, the work of selling diesel illegally in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai was being done by the accused in the hands of the police. All these accused used to buy extra diesel at cheaper rate from ships coming from abroad and used to bring it by boat and sell it at the rate of 70 to 75 rupees a liter. Some people were going to bring diesel from a foreign ship, there was secret information about it, on the basis of which the police team arrested all these people red handed. Before being caught, these people had sold 9,300 liters of diesel, rupees of which have been recovered from them.
The work is going on to crack down on those who take diesel at cheaper rates from ships coming from abroad or steal diesel from those ships. Biodiesel is not produced in India, yet some people do fraud in the name of biodiesel, action has been taken on such people on a large scale. This kind of action will continue in future also. The 5 people who are in the hands of the police, who else are associated with them. Inquiries are being made about this.
