The minimum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius, which is normal. The humidity level at Safdarjung Observatory was recorded at 95 per cent. The data from this observatory is considered official for the city. The minimum temperature at Palam observatory was 9.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, while at Lodhi Road observatory it was 8 degrees Celsius, one degree above average.
In its forecast, the Meteorological Department has predicted cloudy sky during the day and cold conditions at some places. The maximum temperature can be around 16 degree Celsius. On Sunday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 14.9 and the minimum temperature was 10.5 degrees Celsius. The air quality in Delhi has been recorded in the ‘poor’ category. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 244 at 8 am. On the other hand, Haryana’s Faridabad, adjoining Delhi, has an AQI of 198 and Gurugram 176, which falls in the ‘moderate’ category.
