The name of the food delivery company Zomato has been in discussion for the last few days. It started with a video in which a customer alleged that Zomato’s delivery boy beat him up. The time the customer made the video, his nose was bleeding badly. It was alleged that after the order was late, when the woman asked to return the delivery, the delivery boy entered the house and beat her.

The delivery boy was arrested soon after this incident. In this case, Zomato had not responded till then. But now, the company’s CEO Deepinder Goyal tweeted and wrote:

I want to say something about the incident in Bangalore ”
In this whole case, our first priority was to bring out the truth. That is why we are providing all possible help to both the customer and our delivery boy. As long as there is pending investigation, we will try to give full support to the police. We are constantly in touch with the customer, taking responsibility for his medical expenses and will help him in further action. At the same time we are also in touch with our delivery boy and are trying our best to support him as well. Our aim is that the truth should come out. As per protocol, we have suspended our delivery boy for some time. But it will not affect their salary. We are also providing them legal assistance in this matter on our own behalf. I would like to thank all of you for helping us and try to bring out the truth as soon as possible.
It was only after this tweet that Zomato’s delivery boy also shared an objection with the media. He says that not him, but the customer threw slippers at him. The delivery boy has denied the allegation of punching a female customer from Bengaluru and said that the woman had hit her ring on the nose. After the delivery boy’s statement came out, a new twist has come in this matter.
Talking to ‘The News Minute’, a delivery boy named Kamaraj said, ‘I reached the door of his apartment and gave him food. He had chosen the cash on the delivery payment option and I was expecting payment from him. I also apologized to him for the delay in delivery due to traffic and bad roads, but his behavior was quite bad. They asked me ‘Why was it late to get food?‘
After the arrest in the case, Kamaraj put his side in the police inquiry. He told that when he reached the woman’s address with delivery, it was a while. Kamaraj said, “I told him (the woman) apologizing that I was late because of bad road and traffic.” He told that he had never faced such a situation during his 2 years of work.
Kamaraj said, ‘Customer Hitesha took food and refused to give the order money. He said that she was talking with Zomato chat support. When I asked him for payment, he refused to give the money and called him a slave. Then he started shouting and said, “What can you do?” Meanwhile, Zomato Support told me that the order has been canceled on the request of the customer. After this I asked him to return the food, but he refused me.
Please tell that Hitesha Chandrani, who is from Bengaluru, placed the order at 3.30 pm on March 9, but he received this order at 4.30 pm. The order was not received on time, so they called the customer support and asked them to either return the money or cancel the order completely. Hitesha said that when she told the delivery boy that the order had to be canceled or a complementary and she was waiting for its confirmation, the delivery boy shouted at her and refused to take the order back.
Hitesha Chandrani shared the video on Instagram and said that when he asked the delivery boy to wait, he became very aggressive and shouted angrily at them. She got scared and tried to close the door. At this point, the delivery boy forcibly entered her house and punched her in the face. After this, he ran away with the order. In the Instagram video, Chandrani has said that she screamed but her neighbors did not come for help.
