New DelhiDelhi High Court will hear on April 30 a PIL related to the security of the Prime Minister (PM Modi’s Security Breach Case). The court took this decision on Monday in view of the pendency of issues related to it in the Supreme Court. The petition demanded that all authorities, including civil, military, work under the supervision of the Special Protection Group (SPG) in the matter of security of the Prime Minister and his family members.
A bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh said it would ask the Center to treat the PIL as a representation. Advocate V Govinda Ramanan, appearing for petitioner Ashish Kumar, said that it is a question of law especially whether the SPG should have the responsibility in the matter of security of the Prime Minister and he has already made a representation in this regard before the Home Ministry. Central government advocate Amit Mahajan informed the court that the Supreme Court is already considering the issues related to the subject.
