However, during this time the facility of home delivery and takeaway from the restaurant will continue. DDMA has not yet taken the decision to impose lockdown in Delhi.

In the meeting of DDMA chaired by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, it was discussed how to strictly implement the existing restrictions so as to prevent the spread of corona virus and its new variant Omicron. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also involved in this meeting. It was discussed in the meeting that the restrictions imposed in Delhi should also be implemented in the entire National Capital Region (NCR).

Lieutenant Governor Baijal tweeted and said, ‘In view of the increase in the number of corona infected people, we have decided to close the restaurant and bar, but there will be facility to take food home from the restaurant. It has also been decided that only one weekly market will be allowed per zone every day.” In another tweet, Baijal said, “Officers have been advised to strictly ensure this in markets and public places. That people should wear masks and follow COVID Appropriate Behavior, so that the virus can be stopped.

In the meeting, discussion was held on allowing passengers to sit on 50 percent seats in metro train-buses. Earlier on Sunday, Kejriwal had described the rapid spread of corona virus infection as a serious concern. However, Kejriwal had also refused the plan to impose a lockdown. Kejriwal had said that if people wear masks, then the lockdown will not be imposed.
