Black Fungus: The Central Government has asked the State Governments to declare Mucor Mycosis i.e. Black Fungus as an epidemic under the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897. States have been asked to report every single case. In a letter from the Ministry of Health, states have been asked to declare it a rare but potentially fatal disease under the Epidemic Disease Act. The Union Health Ministry said that all government, private health centers and medical colleges will follow the guidelines issued by MoHFW and ICMR.
Notice of all confirmed or suspected cases
This means that all confirmed or suspected cases of black fungus will have to be reported to the Health Ministry. In a letter written to the states, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Love Agarwal said that all government and private health services and medical colleges have to follow the guidelines of ICMR and Mohfw for investigation, diagnosis, management of black fungus. These states declared
Earlier, Rajasthan, Telangana declared Black Fungus as a Notifiable Disease under the epidemic law. The Telangana government has declared Black Fungus (Mucor Mycosis) targeting patients recovering from COVID-19 as a notified disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897. The Rajasthan government has notified Mucor Mycosis (Black Fungus) epidemic and notifiable disease in the entire state under the read section 4 of Section 3 of Rajasthan Epidemic Act 2020.
The danger of black fungus is increasing
The risk of black fungus is increasing in the country. It has killed many patients so far. The risk of black fungus has increased in the country due to Corona virus infection. In view of the infection of black fungus disease, Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has also issued some guidelines through which black fungus infection can be identified in the patient. It has also told what steps patients should take in case of black fungus.
According to AIIMS guidelines, keep checking your face continuously to check the symptoms of black fungus and see if there is any swelling on the face (especially on the nose, eyes or cheeks) or it is painful to touch any part. Ho. Apart from this, if the teeth are falling or if there is swelling and black part inside the mouth, then be cautious.
Exclusive Center in Delhi, 90 Death in Maharashtra
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi government will set up specialized centers for treatment of black fungus in LNJP, RGSSH, GTB hospital. Tamil Nadu has also notified the disease under its Public Health Act. So far 9 cases have been found in the state. At the same time, around 90 people have died due to mucor mycosis in Maharashtra. Cases of mucor mycosis have started appearing since the onset of Corona virus infection last year.
