Mumbai: In view of the problem due to traffic jam near Dahisar Toll Naka on Western Express Highway, link road from Dahisar to Bhayandar has been proposed. Decision has been taken. In this regard, Guardian Minister of Mumbai Suburban Aaditya Thackeray held a review meeting with MMRDA, MSRDC, BMC and Mumbai Police. It is noteworthy that the construction of Metro Pier is in full swing here, due to which there is a situation of traffic jam.
Apart from decongesting the Dahisar toll naka, the proposed 6 km long 45 m wide road from Dahisar Link Road to Bhayandar will be constructed through BMC. This will reduce the congestion and provide an alternate route for Mira-Bhayander. Guardian Minister Aaditya Thackeray said that this will further enhance the connectivity between Mumbai and MMR. The width of this proposed 6-km road will be 45 meters. This road will come under the jurisdiction of BMC for one and a half kilometer, the remaining 4.5 kilometer area will come under the jurisdiction of Mira-Bhayander Corporation. BMC believes that with the construction of this road, the traffic load on the Western Express Highway will be reduced significantly.

Project stuck for 5 years
The project was given the green signal by MMRDA in the year 2016, but the work did not progress in the last 5 years. The responsibility of the project has been transferred to BMC. MMRDA will hand over all its technical information to BMC.
1500 crores will cost
As per the proposal of this project, the total length of the road will be 6 kms and the road will be 45 meters wide. The cost of this 6 km long project has been estimated at Rs 1500 crore. BMC says that after the completion of this project, the amount spent on road construction in Mira-Bhayander area will be reimbursed by MMRDA to BMC.
