For the first time in independent India, a woman is being hanged. Shabnam, a resident of Amroha in UP, will be hanged in Mathura jail. Shabnam, along with her lover Salim, is guilty of killing her mother-father, two brothers, sister-in-law, aunt’s girl and nephew on the night of 14 April 2008.

Pawan says that in the work of hanging him, his grandfather Kalu Jallad landed him. At the same time, his grandfather Kalu Jallad had learned this work from his father Laxman Singh. Laxman Singh died in the year 1989. After this Kalu started doing this work and kept Pawan with him.

Kalu hanged over 60 people in his entire life. It also includes the names of Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh, the killers of Indira Gandhi. Not only this, but the famous Ranga Billa was also hanged by Kalu.
Pawan along with his grandfather Kalu went to Meerut jail for the first time. The year was 1988. Kalu had hanged a criminal. Kalu was sent to jail three days ago. Pawan saw how much his grandfather had in jail. From sentries to jailers and jail superintendents, they were eager to meet Kalu. Pawan had decided only then that he would remain in this work. His father Mammu also hanged Kanta Prasad Tiwari of Jabalpur in the year 1997.
Pawan says that he has learned the technique of hanging from his grandfather and father. He has learned from his grandfather and father how to knot the rope while hanging, how to adjust the rope around the neck, how to make a loop so that the lever works properly.

Pawan says that he has seen about 80 executions while helping him hang with his father and grandfather. He claims that his grandfather’s father Laxman Singh had hanged Bhagat Singh and his associates in the British era. However, Pawan says that his son does not want to be the executioner. He does not want to do this work at all.
