Dabur has finally withdrawn it after a controversial advertisement related to Karva Chauth created a ruckus. Dabur India Company recently released an advertisement of Fame Bleach, which received a lot of criticism on social media. In this advertisement related to Dabur’s Fairness Product fame, a gay couple of 2 girls were shown performing Karva Chauth.
After this advertisement, some people were accusing the Dabur company of deliberately targeting the festivals of Hindus. Along with this, a complaint was also made by the Government of Madhya Pradesh (MP Government). After this the company has removed its controversial advertisement.

Dabur issued a statement on October 25 informing about the withdrawal of the advertisement. The company has also apologized to the people for hurting the sentiments of the people. The company said that we have withdrawn the Karva Chauth campaign of Fame from every social media handle. We apologize unconditionally for hurting people’s sentiments.
The Madhya Pradesh government had directed the state police chief to ask Dabur India Company to withdraw its objectionable advertisements or to take legal action against the company if the advertisements are not withdrawn.
State Home Minister Narottam Mishra gave this information on Monday. The Home Minister’s statement came after an advertisement for Dabur India Limited’s product Fame Cream Bleach, which showed a gay woman couple celebrating Karva Chauth and looking at each other through a sieve.
Married Hindu women on Karva Chauth, especially in North India, observe a fast from sunrise to moonrise for the safety and longevity of their husbands, and in the ritual of completing the fast, the wife sees her husband’s face with the moon in a sieve. Karva Chauth was celebrated on Sunday 24 October.
Mishra told reporters that I consider it a very serious matter. Why such clippings, advertisements are issued only for religious festivals of Hinduism? Today, he is telling these lesbians, breaking the fast of Karva Chauth, while looking in the sieve. Tomorrow, we will show only two boys taking rounds, we will show them getting married. This is objectionable. Right now I have given instructions to DGP to get it tested and ask that company to remove it otherwise we will take legal action.
After this advertisement, some people on social media were accusing Dabur company of deliberately targeting Hindu festivals. There was a demand to boycott Dabur on social media.
