Nagpur. For the last 1 month, the team of Crime Branch Unit 3 is continuously taking action against the sellers of nylon manja. Despite this, the Manja sellers are playing with people’s lives for their own benefit. On Friday, the police squad raided 12 places. The sellers were arrested and confiscated goods worth Rs 2.67 lakh. DCP Chinmay Pandit has instructed all the teams to monitor the manja seller and take strict action against those selling nylon manja. The police have hired their punters.
On Friday, the team raided and arrested 8 Manja vendors at Kotwali, Ganeshpeth, Panchpavli, Sakkardara, Wathoda, Dhantoli, Yashodharanagar and Kalmana police stations. In Tehsil and Nandanvan police station area, 2-2 vendors were raided. A total of 12 people were arrested and 1,768 bundles of nylon manja were seized. Inspector Pradeep Raynawar, API Pawan More, API Madhuri Nerkar, Head Constable Ishwar Khorde, Ramchandra Karemore, Shyam Anguthalewar, Vijay Srivas, Dashrath Mishra, Anil Jain, Milind Choudhary, Anoop Taywade, Satish Pandey, Firoz Sheikh, Ravindra Kardate, Anil Botre, Santosh Chaudhary, Mangesh Madavi, Deepak Lakde and Varsha Hatwar carried out the action.
2 arrested from Nashik and Bhandara
On interrogation of nylon manja vendors caught in the city, two people selling goods in bulk from Nashik and Bhandara were found. He was also made an accused in the case. 1 team was sent to Nashik. Akash Pandurang Chhalare (27), a resident of Sinnar’s Green Woods Society, was arrested. Similarly, Ganesh Keshav Dhakate (25), who sold goods from Bhandara’s Adyal, was arrested.
In the last 28 days, Unit 3 of the Crime Branch has arrested 32 nylon manja sellers. So far, goods worth Rs 15.72 lakh have been confiscated from them. DCP Chinmay Pandit himself interrogated the caught vendors in the office of Unit 3. He was also instructed to arrest the sellers of the goods at the earliest. The police have also requested the citizens to inform the crime branch if anyone has any information about the nylon manja seller.
