The number of corona infected patients has reduced drastically in India. Many activities in the country have started reaching the pre-covid level. Meanwhile, the XE variant of the corona virus has increased a new tension all over the world. Due to the corona virus epidemic in some countries of Europe, Asia, the situation is still going very bad. There is an outcry in China, South Korea with the new variant of Omicron. In such a situation, it has become very important to know how dangerous the XE variant of the corona virus is.
Dr Gagandeep Kang, Professor, Christian Medical College, Vellore, said that the new XE variant of the coronavirus is not a cause for serious concern, as it is more severe than Omicron and its sub-variants. There are no chances. Kang said that as people keep traveling, variants may come up. At present, the XE variant is not a matter of concern.
Don’t worry about XE variant after vaccination
Kang said in his statement that we were very concerned about Omicron’s variant BA.2, but it did not become more serious than BA.1. The XE variant is no more severe than BA.1 or BA.2. Anyway, the areas where vaccination has been done. There is nothing to worry too much about the XE variant. At the same time, other health experts also believe that there is no need to worry too much about the XE variant. In fact, based on the initial data about the new variant, it is being said that it spreads 10 times faster than the other variants.

Recombinant lasts for a short time
At the same time, Dr. Raman Gangakhedekar of the Indian Medical Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that when there is a recombinant, it lasts for a very short time. He further said that a recombinant is prepared when a person gets infected with two different types of virus. In this case recombinant mutation comes to the fore.
How to make XE variant
The XE variant was first revealed in the UK in January. It is made up of Omicron BA.1 and BA.2. According to the WHO, three hybrid or recombinant strains of COVID have been detected so far, out of which the first is XD, the second is XF and the third is XE. Of these, the first and second variants are derived from the combination of Delta and Omicron, while the third is a hybrid strain of Omicron sub-variants.
Characteristics of the XE Variant
The XE variant is made up of two variants of Omicron, so it is believed that its symptoms may also be similar to Omicron variants. Symptoms of XE variant include fatigue, dizziness, headache, sore throat, fever, body ache, runny nose and diarrhea. Apart from this, patients infected with XE may also feel a loss of smell and taste like corona.
How dangerous is the XE variant
So far, there is no evidence to suggest that the XE variant is different from other variants of Omicron. No major threat has come to the fore from this variant found three months ago. The XE variant is not a cause for concern yet.
