Apart from Corona Warriors, people aged 60 years or more and patients suffering from serious diseases can also be administered the third ‘precaution dose’ of Corona Vaccine on the basis of the advice of their doctors. Worldwide, the third dose of the corona vaccine is generally called the booster dose, but Prime Minister Modi in his address has called it a precautionary dose. Prime Minister Modi has announced this decision at a time when all the countries of the world, including India, have once again started increasing the cases of epidemic due to the new Omicron variant of the corona virus.
PM instructed to be careful during the celebration
In his address, Prime Minister Modi has also appealed to the people to be careful during the celebration of Christmas and New Year and to fully implement all the measures to avoid the epidemic. However, along with this, he also said that people need not panic, because the government has made all necessary arrangements to deal with Corona across the country. He also told that the nasal vaccine and the world’s first DNA based vaccine will also be used soon to protect against COVID in India.
So far 141 crore doses of corona vaccine have been administered in the country.
The Prime Minister said that so far the experience of the world shows that along with the vaccine, implementing all the measures to prevent the epidemic personally is also a big weapon in the fight against Corona. He said that we need to be completely careful and vigilant to follow precautions like wearing masks, washing hands frequently and to prevent disease. He said that India started the COVID vaccination campaign on 16 January and 141 crore doses of the vaccine have been administered so far, which is an unprecedented achievement. More than 61 percent of the adult population of the country has been given both doses of the corona vaccine, while 90 percent of adults have received at least one dose.
