As per the information shared by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, healthcare workers, frontline workers and elderly people above 60 years of age suffering from critical illnesses will be eligible for the Precaution dosage. Apart from this, this dose will be given 9 months after the second dose i.e. at 39 weeks from the date of giving the second dose. Beneficiaries who are above 60 years of age will be given “prictionary dose” on the basis of doctor’s advice only. Therefore, to take the third dose, they will have to take a certificate of comorbidities to the vaccination center.
How to do slot booking
Beneficiaries will be able to book vaccination slots on the CoWIN platform. Apart from this, according to the guidelines, slots can also be booked by going to the vaccination center to take the dose and vaccination can be done. Will I get a Precaution Dose Certificate?
A certificate will be issued to the eligible beneficiaries after receiving the precautionary dose. Just as the certificate was issued after the first and second dose, similarly the certificate will be issued even after the precaution dose.
