French-based company PathStore on Tuesday said that it has launched its COVID-19 RT-PCR testing in India at a price of Rs 299. In the event of the third wave of COVID-19 coming in the country, such economical testing can help people a lot. With this, more and more people will be able to get tested. The company said in a statement that this very economical test of the company will help in the work of tourism, industrial and retail sectors.
GeneStore Global CEO Anubhav Anusha said that the cost of testing for economically backward people appears to be one of the biggest barriers to access to COVID-19 diagnostics facilities. He further added that PathStore’s unique mission and challenge is to provide international quality of its laboratory testing and customer service at a cost that is accessible to over 80 per cent of India’s population. GeneStore France is the parent company of PathStore.
Big lab built in Gurugram
Anusha said that PathStore will expand it to all major COVID-19 affected states in the coming one to three months and will engage more than 2 thousand medical representatives for RT-PCR sample collection across India. The company has set up a large RT-PCR and Biosafety Laboratory in Gurugram, which has a capacity to take one lakh samples a day, the statement said.

Let us tell you that in May, ICMR has approved the home testing kit. Through this kit, samples can be taken from the nose for corona examination at home. ICMR has also given a new advisory regarding the corona test kit. ICMR said that home testing is only for symptomatic patients. This is also for those who have come in direct contact with the confirmed case in the lab. For home testing, mobile apps have to be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple Store. Positive and negative reports will be available through the mobile app.
