Coronavirus cases in the national capital Delhi are now intimidating. In the midst of the third wave, the country’s capital is witnessing an increase in corona cases every day. On Tuesday, 21,259 new cases of corona have been reported in Delhi in 24 hours. Also today 23 people have died due to corona. With this, the positivity rate in Delhi has reached 25.65 percent.
According to the daily bulletin issued by the state health department, after 21,259 new cases of corono virus were reported in Delhi, the number of active cases has now increased to 74,881. After getting more than 21,000 new corona patients in the capital, the total number of infected here has crossed 15.90 lakhs. On Monday, more than 19 thousand new cases were reported in Delhi.

The third wave of corona virus (Covid-19) is affecting the elderly and people suffering from serious diseases the most. Especially in Delhi, Corona is proving fatal for the elderly. According to an audit report on Covid-19 deaths released by the Delhi government, 46 deaths have been reported in the last five days, of which 25 people are above 60 years of age.
According to the report, 46 patients of COVID-19 have died in Delhi from January 5 to 9, out of which 34 had diseases like cancer, heart and liver diseases. According to the data released by the government, 11 out of those 46 had the corona virus vaccine. As per the data, 25 out of 46 patients were above 60 years of age and 14 were between 41 and 60.
Meanwhile, in view of the increasing cases of COVID-19, the Delhi government on Tuesday issued instructions to keep all private offices closed except those falling in the exempted category. The private offices which were working with 50 percent working capacity till now, have now been asked to follow the process of doing work from home.

According to the order issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, restaurants and bars in the city have also been directed to be closed. However, restaurants are allowed to allow home delivery of food. Apart from this, people can pack and take food from the restaurant. The government offices in the city are functioning with 50 per cent staff attendance as of now.
