Covid-19 India Update: On Sunday, 93,249 new cases of corona virus have been reported in India. This is the biggest increase in a single day so far this year. According to data from the Union Health Ministry, the total number of COVID-19 cases has reached 1,24,85,509. This is the highest increase in daily cases since 19 September, when 93,337 new infections were detected. According to the updated data at 8 am, there have been 513 deaths, taking the total death toll to 1,64,623.
Fall in recovery rate too
Increasing for the 25th consecutive day, the number of active cases has increased to 6,91,597, which is 5.54 percent of the total infections. It has been found in the data that the recovery rate has fallen further to 93.14 percent. The number of active cases was at its lowest at 1,35,926 on February 12, which was 1.25 percent of the total infection. The number of people recovering from the disease rose to 1,16,29,289, while the case mortality rate stands at 1.32 percent.
The number of COVID-19 cases in India crossed the 20 lakh mark on 7 August, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September. It had crossed the 60 lakh mark on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and one crore on 19 December.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, till April 3, 24,81,25,908 sample tests have been done, in which 11,66,716 sample tests have been done on Sunday.

At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting to review the recent increase in cases of corona virus and vaccination campaign across the country. All senior officers attended this meeting, including Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary, Health Secretary and Dr. Vinod Paul.
Of the 513 new deaths, 277 are from Maharashtra, 49 from Punjab, 36 from Chhattisgarh, 19 from Karnataka, 15 from Madhya Pradesh, 14 cases from Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, 12 from Kerala and 10 each from Delhi and Haryana.
